Thanks for this!! I'm so excited now. I love science and it turns out that my local zoo does four citizen science projects a year! The next one will be in February and I'm really looking forward to it. There are also some others that I'll be looking into. I can't wait to get my daughter involved too! There aren't enough women into science.

Hmmm, not much. There was a Citizen Science Expo this past summer in a nearby town called Sodus, Ny. π
Unfortunately, nothing specific to my area popped up. So then I added my home state and the second link listed was for the Audubon Maryland-DC society offering various opportunities to help them out. Very cool! I'm going to check it out for me and my daughter since we both love being out in nature!
Thank you!
I wish there were! I spent a good hour googling and calling around but found nothing. I'm taking it as a sign to start the ball rolling on getting something going!
I didn't find anything really when I searched for my local area, but when I just did a search for the entire state I found a couple things. There's a river watch initiative where people help gather info on local streams/waterways, and both bee and butterfly information gathering networks.
Those sound awesome! And YES START THEM YOUNG! π

That is seriously awesome.
Always good to know though! Maybe something will start up soon!
Sounds like an awesome plan! π
π Good plan! There are some online options, and national ones as well!
Sweet! Sounds fun! π
